Kiddos

Here is a pic of our three children. They are so darn cute and I love being their mom! I need to get in the habit of taking more pictures so I can update my blog more often. My sis Trish actually took this picture and it turned out really good. That was the day I took my dishes in to be tested for lead and she was so great to come get them so they didn't have to stand in line with me for the hour I was there. BTW....the dishes tested negative...so no lead poisoning here. That's great news!

The Little Things

I'm supposed to be doing my bills right now, and making dinner, and making the treat for the scouts tonight, and doing laundry. And what am I doing?? Posting pics to my blog. Oh well, life's too short to worry about the little things (are those little things?), right????

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was soooo fun! TJ and Brenden ran from house to house, they were very excited. Even Alyssa got into it. She would get mad if we didn't take her up to the door with the rest of the kids. She knows where the good stuff is!

No Smiles for Me!

2 year-olds, you gotta love them, but sometimes it can be difficult. I got Alyssa all dressed up this morning. The boys were at school so it was just us. I did her hair all cute and put her in her new dress. I wanted to take her 2 year-old pictures out in the backyard, by the roses, sitting on the rocks. I cut her a rose to hold, and oh, she looked so cute! However, as soon as I put her on the rock she started to get mad, pull the petals off the flower, and she would not smile. I tried everything! I put her in different places, I sang, I begged, I made every funny face and noise I could think of....and nothing....not one smile! Needless to say, now there were two grumpy women. Now I'll have to do it all over again a different day. I think I'll make sure there are some boys here to make her laugh next time.

Birthdays!!!

We had two birthdays in our family this week! I love birthdays, they are so much fun! The kids smile from morning til night and love every second of it. They are so sweet! Alyssa is now 2 and definitely showing it. She wouldn't share her new baby, she screamed, "No!" to her little cousin who just wanted to play. Oh 2-yr-olds, we love them, don't we??? TJ turned 6! I can't believe it. He is so big and such a good helper. He's so smart, too! And Brenden's birthday was in July, but I don't want him to feel left out. So, he's a cute kid also. He has the biggest smile and eyes, and he has the best laugh. Oh, I love my kids!! So Happy Birthday!!!!

Why I Chose My Title

I thought I might explain why I chose "Box of Chocolates" for my blog title. My reason was two-fold. The first reason is easy...I love chocolate! And it's true, having some chocolate everyday makes all the little things easier to handle. The second reason is the quote from "Forrest Gump" that says, "Life is like a box of chocolates." I liked that because it describes my life. Every day is different and sometimes even the same situations "taste" different. Each "morsel" needs to be enjoyed, and sometimes I want to be able to know what I'm getting and sometimes I'll take what I get and enjoy it. So "Box of Chocolates" pretty much means "My Life," it's just a catchier phrase.

My First Blog

This is my first time having a blog, but I have read a couple of my brothers' and friend's blogs. It should be fun!
